Curriculum for Challenges by Codementum (Studio)
Codementum Studio offers a structured and engaging coding journey that transitions learners from block-based to text-based programming in Python and JavaScript. Students can easily switch between block-based and text-based coding (Python or JavaScript) through themed “Coding Adventures,” starting with fundamental programming structures and progressing to algorithms, logic, data handling and object-oriented design. The platform features over 600 challenges, mobile game and app development modules, making it suitable for beginners through advanced learners. The Codementum curriculum is divided into 4 stages, known as Coding Adventures, each introducing progressively more advanced concepts:
Curriculum for Arena Battles by CodeCombat
CodeCombat offers a progressive curriculum designed to take learners from foundational programming skills to advanced coding techniques. Through engaging lessons and interactive gameplay, students develop the problem-solving and coding abilities needed to succeed in both challenges and the Arena Exam. The curriculum is organized into 3 main categories:
The Arena Exam is a live coding challenge where participants’ programs compete directly against others. Training is recommended to start with Computer Science 1 (CS1), covering Syntax, Variables, Loops and Functions, essential skills for both game development and competitive arenas. From there, learners progress through the remaining Computer Science units, then explore Game Development and Web Development to broaden their creative and technical expertise.
