ARENA BATTLES BY CODECOMBAT – EXAM CONDITIONS

1. Eligibility & Participation

• This category is open to students in Grades 4 to 12.
• Students participate in 3 grade groups:
  -> Code Pioneers (Grades 4-6)
  -> Code Explorers (Grades 7-9)
  -> Code Masters (Grades 10-12) 
  

2. Programming Languages & Exam Format

• Supported languages: Python and JavaScript.
• Participants must write and submit their code via the Arena Exam Panel within 36 hours.
• Code may be edited and resubmitted at any time during this period.
• Detailed exam guidelines will be announced separately. 
  

3. Fees & Benefits

• Participation fee: 40 €.
• Students who join the first Final Exam may join the second one at a discounted fee of 15 €.
• All participants receive a free CodeCombat Premium membership, valid until 31 July 2026, provided by the Coding Olympiad. 
  

4. Competition Structure

• Students compete in head-to-head battles, with rankings determined by the number of wins.
• 2 independent online Final Exams are held on different dates:
  -> 25 October 2025
  -> 14 March 2026
• Students may participate in either Final Exam or both exams.
• Results, medals and Grand Final discounts are awarded separately for each exam.
• Students who join the first Final Exam may join the second one at a discounted fee of 15 €.
• Students who take part in both exams will receive separate medals and certificates for each.
• If a student earns discounts from both exams, only the higher discount can be applied to the Grand Final. Discounts are non-transferable, non-combinable and valid for one Grand Final only. 
  

5. Certificates & Awards

• All participants receive a digital certificate based on performance and ranking.
• Medals and certificates are distributed within each group as follows:
  - The top 3 participants in each grade group will receive a physical Gold Medal and a Certificate of Achievement.
  - First 15%: Digital Gold Medal Certificate
  - Next 20%: Digital Silver Medal Certificate
  - Next 25%: Digital Bronze Medal Certificate
  - Next 20%: Digital Honorable Medal Certificate
  - Next 20%: Digital Participation Certificate
• The Top 3 students in each grade group (9 students total) will receive:
  - Hard Copy Medal
  - Hard Copy Certificate
  - Grand Final Discount:
    1st Places → 75% Discount
    2nd Places → 50% Discount
    3rd Places → 25% Discount 
  

6​. About the Coding Grand Finals (Orlando / New York / Italy)

• All students who participate in the Online Finals qualify directly for the Grand Finals.
• No ranking or medal requirements apply.
• Students who participate in the 1st Online Final Exam (25 October 2025) qualify for the 2026 Grand Finals in Orlando, New York or Italy.
• Students who participate in the 2nd Online Final Exam (14 March 2026) qualify for the 2026 Grand Finals in New York or Italy.
