Arena Battles by CodeCombat
Students in grades 3 to 11 can join the Coding Olympiad by selecting this category.
The
Arena Battles by CodeCombat
category uses the programming languages Python and JavaScript.
Participants in this category are required to write and submit their code within 24 hours through the Arena Exam Panel. They may edit and resubmit their code at any time during this period. Detailed exam guidelines will be announced separately.
The key feature of this category is that students compete directly against each other in head-to-head battles. Rankings are determined based on the number of wins during these matches.
The participation fee for this category is 40 €.
Students participating in this category will receive free CodeCombat Premium membership, valid until 31 July 2026, provided by the Coding Olympiad.
There are two independent online Final Exams held on different dates in this category. Students may choose to participate in either Final Exam.
The results of both exams will be announced separately and medals as well as Grand Final discounts will be awarded independently for each.
Students who participate in the first online Final Exam are eligible to participate in the second online Final Exam free of charge.
Students who participate in both Final Exams will receive individual medals and certificates for each exam.
When a student qualifies for Grand Final discounts from both exams, only the higher discount may be applied for participation in the Grand Final. (Discounts are non-transferable and cannot be combined or used for multiple Grand Finals.)
All participants will receive a digital certificate based on their performance and ranking according to the code they write during the exam.
Participants are evaluated in 3 separate groups and results are announced accordingly:
- Code Pioneers (Grades 3-4-5)
- Code Explorers (Grades 6-7-8)
- Code Masters (Grades 9-10-11)
Medals and certificates are distributed within each group as follows:
- Top 3: Gold 1, Gold 2, Gold 3
- First 15%: Gold Medal Certificate
- Next 20%: Silver Medal Certificate
- Next 25%: Bronze Medal Certificate
