Q1: What is the Coding Olympiad?
The Coding Olympiad is an international competition where students apply coding and problem-solving skills in various categories, including Arena Battles by CodeCombat, Challenges by Codementum and AI Prompt Lab.

Q2: Who can participate?
Participation is open to students from grade 1 to grade 12, depending on the category.

Q3: What categories can I join?
- Arena Battles (CodeCombat): AI-powered coding arena battles using Python or JavaScript.
- Challenges (Codementum): Step-by-step coding adventures with structured challenges.
- AI Prompt Lab: Creative tasks using AI tools to recreate images, calendars and charts.

Q4: How should I prepare for Arena Battles?
It is recommended to complete foundational CodeCombat levels covering syntax, loops, conditionals, pathfinding and hero abilities. Additional training arenas include:
- Golden Goal Championship Arena (open to all users)
- Farmscape Blitz Arena (exclusive to Coding Olympiad participants)

Q5: How should I prepare for Challenges?
Work through the 4 Coding Adventure stages in Codementum, covering basics such as loops, variables, conditionals, functions, lists, sets and debugging.

Q6: How should I prepare for AI Prompt Lab?
Practice tasks with various AI tools before the official platform opens on 1 October 2025. After this date, participants will be able to use the official platform, which will provide training credits for each task:
- Task 1: Image Recreation (20 credits)
- Task 2: Calendar Recreation (10 credits)
- Task 3: Chart/Graph Recreation (10 credits)

Q7: How much does it cost to participate?
Each category has its own participation fee, listed on the Fees & Payment Policies page. Every selected category requires a separate payment.

Q8: Are refunds available?
Refunds are processed only for duplicate payments.

Q9: How are payments processed?
Payments are made via Stripe using credit or debit cards. Card details are never stored by Coding Olympiad.

Q10: Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, all participants receive a digital certificate. Medal certificates are awarded based on performance percentages within each group.

Q11: How can I qualify for the Grand Finals?
All participants in the Coding Olympiad online exams automatically qualify for the Grand Finals, with no ranking or medal requirements.

Q12: Where are the Grand Finals held?
The upcoming Grand Finals will take place in Orlando, New York and Italy.

Q13: How are the exams conducted?
All exams are online, held in English and require a stable internet connection, camera and compatible device.

Q14: Are make-up exams available?
No, make-up exams are not offered for missed sessions.
