PLEASE DO NOT START THE EXAM WITHOUT READING THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS HERE!

Dear Participants,

Below you will find answers to the most common questions you may encounter during the exam. If your question is already listed here, please do not send an email. Follow all steps exactly as described. If your problem is not resolved after following the instructions, you may contact us via email. Please include the student ID and full name. (info@codingolympiad.org)

Q1: Where can I start my exam? I didn’t receive a link.
Log in to your Coding Olympiad student panel. Click the START EXAM button on your exam card. Do not click the START EXAM button before reading all the instructions and making sure you are ready.

Q2: Can I join the exam using a smartphone or tablet?
You can join the exam, but screen sharing will not work and the camera may block your view of the questions. You may select ‘Continue without screen sharing and camera recording’.

Q3: Can I enter the exam at any time on 8 February?
Yes. You can enter the exam at any time during the 24-hour exam period in GMT. Don’t forget, you will have only limited duration (60-minutes) once you start the exam.

Q4: Can I register on the exam day?
Yes, you can register and join on the same day.

Q5: I cannot access the homepage or student panel, so I cannot access the exam. What should I do?
Make sure your internet connection is working correctly. If it is working, try logging in again every 15 minutes. International internet traffic may sometimes cause delays.

Q6: I received a ‘Page unresponsive’ message.
This means your device cannot run the exam smoothly. You can use your phone as an external camera, try another device, or continue the exam without camera and screen sharing.

Q7: Will I lose points if I continue the exam without a camera and screen sharing?
If you rank in the top 10, you may lose your ranking.

Q8: I cannot activate my camera or screen sharing.
Refresh your browser and reconnect.

Q9: What should I do if questions are not loading, the screen is frozen or I cannot select an answer?
Close all other tabs, leaving only the exam tab open. Refresh your browser and check your internet connection. If needed, switch your internet source (e.g., modem to mobile hotspot). If the issue continues, do not submit the exam, close the browser, and log in again using Incognito/Private Mode.

Q10: I rejoined the exam and the message ‘Continue Here’ appeared. What does it mean?
You opened the exam in another tab or device. Click ‘Continue Here’ and continue without delay.

Q11: I entered the exam and saw less than 60 minutes remaining. Why?
This happens only if you previously clicked the ‘Start Exam’ button. If you are not fully ready, do NOT click ‘Start Exam’. Once the exam begins, the timer cannot be paused or stopped.

Q12: My account shows ‘Participated’, but I did not solve questions or submit the exam. Why?
An exam becomes Participated only in these two cases: You clicked the ‘Start Exam’ button and the 60-minute duration ended or you clicked ‘Submit Exam’ button. The exam cannot become ‘Participated’ by itself.

Q13: It says “MISSED” even though I have not started the exam. Why?
Please check your computer’s date and time settings and make sure they are synchronized with the correct your local time. If they are correct, please try taking the exam on another device.

Q14: The timer is not running and the answer counter is not updating.
This usually happens because of browser auto-translate tools or programs running in the background. Close all such programs before the exam.

Q15: If my device runs out of battery or the power goes out during the exam, will my time decrease or end when I reconnect later?
Yes. The timer continues even if you disconnect. The exam cannot be paused or stopped.

Q16: If I get a tab error, will I lose points?
Typically, 0.5 points are deducted for each tab issue. Minor errors may occur due to camera or screen-sharing settings. The system reviews everyone’s tab-error statistics after the exam. Please do not send emails explaining tab errors or providing apologies.

Q17: I did not click ‘Submit Exam’ button, but the exam closed. Are my answers saved?
Yes. Answers are saved every 30 seconds as long as your internet connection is stable. A device shutdown or internet loss will not delete your answers.

Q18: Can I update my grade level during the exam period?
No. Grade level changes are not allowed during the exam day.

Q19: I forgot my password and I am not receiving the verification code.
Check your Spam/Junk folder and make sure your inbox is not full.

Q20: The system does not accept my email or “Forgot Password” is not working.
Make sure you are using the email address registered in the MTO database. Check for any typing mistakes (extra spaces, incorrect letters, or Caps Lock). If you can’t remember it, you can try the ‘Forgot Password’ option using your other email addresses.

Q21: When will the results be announced?
Results will be announced 12 days after the exam.
