Before students begin learning programming languages such as Python, block coding, or JavaScript on the computer, it is important for them to gain basic theoretical knowledge under the Computer Science (CS) category. To help students build confidence and develop motivation before joining our paid online coding exams, we are launching a free introductory assessment. This exam is designed to warm students up to coding, introduce key concepts, and encourage them with inspirational beginner-level content. Our goal is to make their transition into real coding smoother, easier, and more enjoyable. The Computer Science Category of the Coding Olympiad offers students in grades 4-12 an exciting opportunity to explore the foundations of computing, logic, and programming. Through a carefully designed online test, participants develop problem-solving skills, computational thinking, and digital literacy. This category introduces students to key concepts that shape today’s digital world, from understanding how computers work to applying logic in coding and real-life problem-solving. It encourages creativity, analytical thinking, and curiosity about how technology powers modern life. Whether students are new to computer science or already have coding experience, this exam provides a structured, engaging, and inspiring way to strengthen their understanding of core STEM principles while preparing them for future academic and professional success.
